How does Northbeam define revenue?

One key metric that Northbeam tracks is revenue generated from marketing campaigns and touchpoints, but how does Northbeam define revenue?

What does Northbeam consider as revenue? 

Northbeam reports on Gross Revenue net of discounts applied. Northbeam does not account for refunds because we consider it unrelated to analyzing marketing touchpoints. 

How does Northbeam decide where revenue is coming from? 

Northbeam uses Attribution Models to analyze what parts of your marketing funnels and customer journeys drive the most impact and revenue. In addition to 4 out-of-the-box Attribution Models, NB uses our proprietary Machine Learning algorithms to give you two unique Multi-Touch Attribution Models. How can I break down revenue? 

The Overview Page gives a quick snapshot of how your business is performing. This snapshot can also be modified by attribution model, filters, time period, and accounting mode (see below) to give you additional insights into your business. Revenue can also be broken down into:

  • Transactions
  • Transactions (New vs. Returning)
  • Revenue (New vs. Returning)
  • Revenue (Excl Revenue from Refunds)
  • Orders and Refunds (By Order Date)
  • Revenues and Refunded Value (By Order Date)
  • Revenues and Refunded Value (By Refund Date)

What revenue insights can I see on the Sales Page

  • Attributed Rev (Attribution Window): Revenues attributed to marketing spend during a specific Attribution Window. For example, the default is a 1-day Attribution Window, so Attributed Rev (1d) shows revenues realized from customers interacting with an ad and converting within a day. 
  • LTV Attributed Rev: Total revenues attributed to an ad or ad campaign, regardless of when the customer converted. 
  • Forecasted Attributed Rev (30d, 60d, 90d): Using your data, Northbeam forecasts how much total additional revenue will come from past marketing activities in 30, 60, and 90-day intervals. These forecasts will get better as NB gets more data.
