What is Unattributed Revenue?

Any unattributed revenue is an order in your system that isn't connected to a current touchpoint.

Any unattributed revenue is an order in your system that isn't connected to a current touchpoint. Examples of unattributed revenue can be subscriptions (prior to our tracking), wholesale orders, or orders from giveaways and raffle prizes.

Northbeam identifies the following unattributed revenue:

  • Unattributed First Time: this is the first order that Northbeam identified without an initial touchpoint.
  • Unattributed Returning: this is a returning order that Northbeam identified without an initial touchpoint.

✏️ NOTE: Starting with Northbeam, you will see that unattributed data is the largest bucket as the model learns. It will take 10-14 days for the data to attribute in the Clicks Only view and 25-30 to the Clicks & Views model. After the first 30 days, all unattributed revenue should be attributed to the correct touchpoints, unless it is wholesale or subscription orders.

If you see unattributed revenue after 30 days, please reach out to our Customer Success team by using this form to submit an inquiry. A team member will help diagnose the situation.
