Tips for Data Collection & Maintenance

Data ingestion during MMM+ refers to the process of collecting, organizing, and preparing the relevant data needed for analysis.

Data ingestion involves bringing in various data sources and integrating them into a unified format that can be used for modeling and analysis.

Your Data Input Template

Prior to our kickoff call, you will receive an email containing a data input template. This template is designed to guide you on how to fill out the necessary information for each tab. During our call, we will provide clear instructions on what specific data needs to be included in each section of the template.

We suggest going ahead and starting the process of collecting the data the template asks for, so we can review the inputs during the kickoff call. This process will ensure that the required data is accurately captured and ready for ingestion and analysis.

Data Formatting

Structuring the data in the format requested will make this process a lot more seamless. This step involves arranging the data where each row represents a specific time period (e.g., day or month), and each column represents a marketing input or outcome variable.

Data Maintenance and Updates

Data ingestion is an ongoing process as new data become available or existing data is updated. It is important to establish a process for regularly maintaining data to ensure that your MMM+ model is ingested with the most current information.

We highly suggest keeping the data input spreadsheet updated. The most successful clients have a dedicated stakeholder to update the sheet every 3-4 days.
