How do I view new vs. returning data?

The new vs. returning reporting helps you determine when and how to engage audience segments

Throughout the Northbeam dashboard, you'll have plenty of metric options that are segmented by First Time or Returning.

  • First Time refers to users who make their initial purchase or engage with a product for the first time.
  • Returning refers to users who have interacted with a website or platform before or purchased a product already (repeat customer). In other words, it involves people who are returning or coming back for subsequent interactions after their initial engagement. 

💡 TIP: Use Custom Columns to help you report on First Time vs. Returning data and then create a Saved View so you can refer back to it.
